Fast forward

June 1, 2007

well this is the day that i took the beast off the road due to a bottom end noise, i was going on a road trip to Georgia with the homies (Shawn and Kyrie-O) when the car shut off on the off ramp of the interstate, so we pushed/rolled it to the gasstation and got it to fire up.Holy crap that was a bad noise, so i had to have it towed home... $240.00 tow bill later i had it home.
The project now begins

pistons

So i finally said screw the party life (for a lil while) and start to focus on the BEAST again, its now been down for a little over a year and i need to get back in game mode.

I went and bought a like new crankshaft for a pretty sweet price, yeah i wish i could have gone stroker motor but for fact that i wanted a motor that i could drive for more than 50K miles and not have to rebuild it again... i can make the power difference up somewhere else

next step was the Piston choice.... after a few weeks of research and price checks, also talked to a bunch of people with hands on experience, i decided to go with a set of Diamond pistons with a .20 over bore so that i could clean up the cylinder walls and still go bigger if i need to later

Connecting Rods

Well i finally decided on the rods that i want to use in the beast....
went with a set of manley H-beam rods with upgraded ARP 2000
rod bolts

i figure i shouldnt have any problems with these since they are rated at 900 HP

I got my new rims in for the beast, went with a set of 15x10 on the rear, and about to order the 15x3.5 for the front... the rears finally came after being on back order for awhile

they are Greg Weld motorsports

tough choice... kinda

I made a choice that most prob think that i would be a dumbass for doing....
im putting the shipping the motor off to michigan off for another week and go
ahead and buy this throttlebody for the beast...

brand new it cost like 375 bucks and picking this one up and the tps sensor for
230 shipped and putting me about a week or 2 off the shipping the motor off
but i didnt want to lose out on this deal

also pick up a driveshaft
safety loop for
helping a friend with his
car... this will go good with the
future plans of a TKO 500 and
alum. driveshaft

engine bay

So when i took the motor out i decided to clean the engine bay up a little bit... took every wire that i didnt "need" and got rid of it, all the other ones were rerouted into the fenders so that i could get that clean look.
The little holes that were in the bay were filled and still in the progress of smoothing everything out and painting the bay black before the motor goes back in

when the motor is back in then the motor should have that wireless carbarated look since im going with a stand alone system with a full race harness

project interior

The car originally came with tan leather interior and i put up with it until now...
im switching to all black interior, with factory black leather backseat and summit
racing front seats, also switching to the FR500 steering wheel

maybe a 10-point cage later down the road, prob once i take it down the track a few times

FRONT RIMS

so i finally said screw it and went ahead and ordered the front rims for the beast
i even went ahead and added some BLING factor to it, and ordered some valve stems
with the chrome covers on them... oh yea biatches

MOTOR (update)

i've been a little freaked out lately about the motor getting stolen, just because it would be my luck that someone see it and walk away with it, so i went ahead and shipped the motor to michigan, to john at Modular performance.. (www.modularperformance.com) so when i get it back the motor will be done, but god only knows when i get that bill paid for, atleast it is in line and getting built

REAR END

damn it, i did it again... started a new project, i know i know im never gonna get the motor done at this rate, but i already have bought the 4:30 gears (a few months back) and i just ordered the 31 spline carrier so hoping it will ship out tomarrow (7/13/08) now all i need is axles and diff. cover to finish the rear end..... not to much to go to cross this project off list

intake update

i cut out the factory divider out to allow the accufab throttle body to fit and work
the right way

Also started to cut out the EGR tubes and smooth them out so that i could get a little more intake volume and better flow, still have a good bit of work to smooth it out

another intake update

so i went and bought a set of UPR fuel rails for the beast, just one more thing closer to marking the intake as a done project, they should be in tomarrow 7/23/08
9/16inch id.

since im going to these rails i decided to go to a steel braided line set up from the tank to the rails, 8-an feed with 6-an return... also going to a fuel cell setup for the race gas. ill be able to switch from pump gas in my stock tank to race gas in the fuel cell. fuel cell will be here on july 28th... then the fabrication will begin

i really am stopping with these side projects after this one, why have a badass motor and big rails if you cant feed it, after this total focus on the motor/trans setup.... i swear

strokergt production videos

here are some videos of the beast or done by me 4 friends or fun (original video of beast) (video 2 of beast) (J's 03 COBRA) (mustang week 06)
